Issue 1 Is Here.

Welcome to Spring/Summer '26.

Issue 1 Is Here.
Lord Fess reads a copy of Issue 1, ft. Cyanca.

It's official: the faces, scenes, and stories of NC hip-hop have a new home in print, and our mission of going deeper on the state's creative culture finally has its ambitious opening statement. This first edition—featuring Cyanca, Kemp Dupri, Gordon Holliday, the work of 20 talented contributors, and more—is a short run, so you'll want to get yours sooner rather than later. As of this morning, you can do that in three different ways:

  • Pick up a copy in-person at a North Carolina retailer near you. See our full list of stockists here, including locations in Durham, Raleigh, Winston-Salem, and Wilmington (and more very soon).
  • Order an individual copy via our online store. If you're coming to one of our kickoff parties later this month, enter PARTYTIME at checkout to opt for pickup and avoid a shipping charge.
  • Subscribe to the magazine for $50 or $100/yr. Get issues delivered every six months, never pay shipping, and help keep SE growing for many issues to come. **Note: If you're already a print subscriber, your copy is packaged up and being dropped off with UPS later this morning!

And just for good measure, we've got art and photo prints available too. It's all in the shop, which you can find at the link below. (These links aren't being promoted on social for a couple more hours, to give newsletter subscribers get first dibs.) Thanks for all the love leading up to this release, and I can't wait to see a room full of people with this thing in their hands very, very soon.
